Washington DC

Recently I had opportunity to travel to the USA on business to spend time in McLean, VA. I decided to go there early by three days and to explore nearby Washington DC.
A little bit of sightseeing of the must see i.e. The Smithsonian …
But my attention span to museums last on average for about five seconds.
So, those who know me will not be surprised to hear that I took my own approach to sightseeing. That is to say, after a quick stop at the shopping mall where I purchased a new pair of running shoes, I strapped them on and the rest, well here it goes:
Starting point: The White House (East Wing)
Finish Line: Capitol Hill
So this was my first full Marathon by myself and completely spontaneous. Arguably a bit slow but considering numerous trafic lights and picture stops, it just felt great and I knew DC pretty well after that. Here are a couple of pics taken on the run:
Arlington Bridge
Washington Monument
Lincoln Memorial
Capitol Hill
Union Station – from here I went back to McLean by train.
An easy commute of approx 25 minutes.
Back later for a nice dinner with one of America’s favorite Chefs:
